What it's about

Ever mindful of the long -- and we think too lonely -- political struggle being waged by NRA members on behalf of gun owners and the shooting sports, Conetrol is working with a growing number of shooting industry outlets about the country who have adopted the policy of allowing a 1% bottom-line discount on every sale made to a member of The National Rifle Association. We join in urging all jobbers and dealers who qualify for the discount to pass it on to their NRA-member customers. We urge NRA members to ask about it whenever and wherever they purchase Conetrol and other shooting products participating in the program.

We urge you Mr. Jobber or Dealer, to give The NRA Percent even if some of your suppliers do not ... even, indeed, if you are not an NRA member and thus don't 'qualify' for it yourself. It's something you can afford; it's simple to figure; and you are this day yet able to engage in the business of selling hunting and shooting goods because of the great influence on legislators of those NRA members who frequent your establishment. Let them know you appreciate them! Make sure they get that 1% every time they buy something from you, and make sure your other customers know it.

Let us all work toward the day when a customer in any sporting goods store in our country will be asked a polite but inevitable question at the close of every transaction involving a hunting or shooting product: "Are you a member of The National Rifle Association?"

The power of The National Rifle Association to protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners rises and falls with the size of its membership. The NRA Percent is the means for bringing about an overwhelming and continuing escalation in that membership. Let's keep its influence working within our industry to get ALL hunters and shooters into NRA ranks.

You, Mr. Rank and File NRA member, can do more than anybody else to ensure the continued success of this national movement. Make the idea a recurring topic of discussion with fellow members and in your gun club. Whenever you buy hunting or shooting products, ask dealers whether they give The NRA Percent. If they don't know what you're talking about, educate them. Tell them if they will adopt the program as store policy you'll see that the news gets around to other NRA members in the community. Suggest that if they are NRA members they should be able to get The NRA Percent themselves from many of their suppliers and should ask about it.

Do your part to keep the movement alive and moving. We in the trade will do ours!

Decals for NRA Percenters

NRA Percent decals are now available for manufacturers, jobbers and dealers interested in adopting The NRA Percent in their operations. The decals are 1 foot long by 5 inches high, and are suitable for attachment to wall, counter-top or store-front.
